Teaching & Mentoring
Teaching & Mentoring
As a teacher and mentor, I strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages each individual student in their own abilities. Teaching and mentoring is one of my favorite parts of my job, and I takethe opportunity to serve as a mentor seriously. I put the learning opportunities of the students who work with me first, only giving them tasks that they might learn or benefit from, always explaining things to improve their understanding of research, and setting up dedicated time in which I teach them skills that they are interested in acquiring (e.g., data analysis, how to write a CV, etc.) or discussing papers on topics of interest to them. As both and instructor and TA I try to lead with genuineness and compassion. My goal is to be a source of support for students of all levels.
